A year after our first attempt at this section of the Appalachian Trail we decided to try it again and were successful in completing the 11 mile stretch. We arrived to the trailhead around 9pm and hiked a mile to the first shelter in the dark knowing that rain would soon be coming and we would likely be hiking the next morning in the rain. The three of us who were on this trip hardly slept at all that night and after eating breakfast in the morning were hiking by 8:15. The rains we expected in the morning never showed up and it was quite a pleasant hike back to the car which we completed in about 3.5 hours. This section of the trail had some beautiful terrain and plenty of water along the way. Here are just a few shots from the trip.
