Missouri really doesn’t have any wilderness, I’ve come to realize. Even when visiting the national forest areas, there are private residences on the forest roads and you are never far from civilization. I have also discovered, however, that no one really visits Missouri’s public lands at all, and there are a few wonderful (relative to Missouri) locations to explore. I’ve previously posted about some of these locations and this is another post on Harry S. Truman State Park. Having spent many nights here in all seasons, including the peak summer season, I have never felt crowded while setting up camp here. These photos are from a quick overnight trip to again just get out of the city and spend some time outdoors.
